Oh, I'd Forgotten How Much This Hurts

I'm also absent one loving husband to help sustain me throughout the entire process though Wilbur is doing enough panicking to make up for it.

It's all worth it in the end however as I hold my gorgeous daughter in my arms.

Hello Bernice.

My little island family is growing apace and growing up as well.  Wilbur discovered an interest in the chemistry set I spent so many hours at a few years ago.

With the same explosive results I might add.  Never mind, those eyebrows do grow back.  Trust me.

Otherwise life continues on its merry way.  We have another full moon while I'm updating the family records to include the birth of Bernice.  Edwin's transformations don't really bother me any more and I don't even look up.

But then...

Oh my goodness!  Wilbur?!

My beautiful son!!  NOOOOO!

I watch in helpless horror as my innocent boy twists himself up into the distorted form of a half human beast.  The room begins to spin and I hear a roaring sound booming in my ears.  Is that my heart?

Finally the room seems too oppressive and hot and I flee outside for some fresh air and privacy to express my grief.

My son...  I...  feel...  fuuunnnnyyyy......

Victor soon rushes to my rescue.  The only one of us not currently in the shape of some half human beast or passed out in a dead faint. A relaxing bath does have a calming effect on me.  As does the fact that Wilbur doesn't seem to feel any need to join his father in 'the hunt'.

Sitting down playing chess with his brother doesn't seem a particularly monstrous thing to do.  Although he apparently does have a tendency to gnaw on the game pieces while he's waiting for his turn.

I guess this is just one more thing I'm going to have to get used to.  Right?

Well, ok.

One husband who is a werewolf? Check.

One son who is a werewolf?  Check.

One son who is a time machine baby?  Check.

One happy, loving family?

Check.

How can I be anything other than happy?  It may not be normal, but this is normal for us.

Oh look.  Daddy just taught Bernice another word.

Kisses my little darling, you are definitely daddy's little princess.
